How to Get a Flat Stomach and Lose Weight

Most of us have a few annoying pounds of belly fat that we would dearly love to lose. Unfortunately it is impossible to lose weight from just one area of the body unless you go and have it sucked out of you with liposuction. For most of us who would prefer to lose the weight in safer less expensive ways here are a couple of tips.

Bloating
If you are feeling bloated it can add inches to your waistline and make you look like you are a lot heavier than you are. Simply getting rid of that bloated feeling will leave you looking and feeling lighter. There are some foods that should be avoided and some that you should be eating more of:

Chewing gum. When you chew gum you generally swallow a lot of air that can cause bloating. The same goes for people who smoke and even those who talk quickly.
Fizzy drinks. Fizzy drinks don't stop being fizzy when you swallow them. They continue to release gas that can cause bloating.

Swell Yoga Moves

Swell yoga moves to beat the blues. This vinyasa can be interspersed within your practice or be a stand alone energy pick up. Challenge yourself, get the heart pumping more, and put a spring in your step. If you have sore joints - hips, knees, ankles - step rather than jump, step and hold poses longer rather than creating a vinyasa. And if you have heart problems keep arms shoulder height.
The swell yoga moves consists of a shooting Star, stabilizing Chair, and tall Mountain. Let's visualize these moves before practicing them. See the Mountain grow tall as you inhale and gracefully raise your Namaste hands from the heart to reach for the twinkling star overhead. Invite that star to join you as you move fingers apart while keeping the base of the palms, sides of thumbs and little fingers together forming the lotus mudra. Tone or chant here, if you like, then close fingers gently around that sparkling star when it arrives, thanking the star for coming and showering you with bright light. Of course you can create your own visualization and play even more.

If you are able to, exercise first thing in the morning. It will get your metabolism going for the day. Feeling sluggish mid-morning or mid-afternoon? Get up from whatever you’re doing and take a 10-15 minute walk. Drink a couple of bottles of water while you’re at it. Do not grab that candy bar!!!

In order to maximize your fitness routine, be sure to always stretch. Stretching will help to prevent injury. Many times you may think that you do not have to stretch, or that if your exercise is light enough that your body will stretch itself. This is never the case, and becomes more important the older you get. Always stretch to prevent injury and get the most out of your workout.

Cardiovascular Exercise is Heart Healthy

The definition of cardiovascular exercise is any sort of physical exercise that gets your heart rate going at the rate of between 60 and 85 percent of your maximum heart rate for a period of about 20 minutes or more.

You can do some research and pick the best cardio exercise for your body type. The best cardio exercise that you can do is any of the above or other examples of activity that gets the heart rate to the appropriate levels.

What is Cardiovascular Exercise? Cardiovascular exercises are also called aerobic exercises. These types of exercise get the heart going and then the lungs pump more and you need more oxygen and your muscles have to work harder.  Cardiovascular training makes you have to develop cardiovascular endurances so your body can handle the intensity of the exercises.
Cardio benefits can include getting your heart in shape and helping your body get better at using oxygen. When you have a stronger heart, it doesn’t have to pump so hard to get blood throughout the body and so it is not straining to work right. These fitness benefits help your heart to stay “younger” and thus you have a
stronger body in general.
